For a Memorial Day weekend to remember, attendees of this year’s Bottlerock Napa Valley music festival came together to enjoy their final night of fun on Sunday. With a daily lineup filled with loads of promising talent and notable musical performances, the festival’s crowd seemed larger than they had all weekend, everyone eager to make their last day their best. Festivalgoers lounged in the sun as they enjoyed performances from acts like girl group The Beaches, indie rising act Cannons and melodic pop sensation Stephen Sanchez.
It seemed that all of the artists shared the same notion as their audience of wanting to make the final day of BottleRock the best, pulling out all of the stops in hopes of sending their fans home with the best energy and memories. No one seemed to want to head out early as crowds gathered and grew at both the Verizon Stage and the JaM Cellars Stage as the evening went on, eager to catch glimpses of the night’s final acts Queens of the Stone Age and headliner Ed Sheeran.
After an impressive performance from alternative-indie showstopper Dominic Fike, the anticipation for British pop legend Ed Sheeran was palpable. As he walked on stage and delivered a more-than-impressive performance of his greatest hits across genres, Sheeran left the crowd awestruck at his sheer talent. Producing all of his songs on a loop-pedal live on stage at each of his performances, Sheeran displayed his pure mastery of his craft and rang the night home with crowd favorites “Castle on the Hill,” “Perfect” and “Shape of You.”
