The Bruins (27-1) wasted no time asserting their dominance. Londynn Jones opened the game with a step-back three-pointer, and Gabriela Jaquez added a put-back off an offensive rebound. Betts, a National Player of the Year candidate, made her presence known early with a powerful block, setting the tone for UCLA’s defensive effort.
By halftime, the Bruins had built a commanding 45-28 lead, using their size and speed to overwhelm the Badgers (13-14). Betts, who averages 19.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, and three blocks per game, was unstoppable in the paint, while Kiki Rice and Angela Dugalić controlled the tempo.
In the third quarter, UCLA completely pulled away, outscoring Wisconsin 25-12 to take a 70-40 lead into the final period. The Bruins’ defense smothered the Badgers, forcing tough shots and limiting second-chance opportunities.
Wisconsin had no answers for UCLA’s depth and size. Wisconsin’s Serah Williams battled inside, but the Badgers struggled to contain Betts, who finished her 10th double-double of the season.
The Bruins closed out the game efficiently, scoring 91 points while holding Wisconsin to just 61. With the win, UCLA remains in firm control of its Big Ten destiny. It is now turning its attention to a much-anticipated matchup with USC for the conference title.
UCLA will look to cap off its dominant regular season in a top-five showdown against the Trojans, a game with significant postseason implications.
