If you love traveling, live music or both, there is no better way to spend your summer than going to music festivals. Let’s take a look at the 2025 lineup.
Lollapalooza
If your music taste is as scattered as your desk during finals week, this is the festival for you. One of the longest-running festivals, Lollapalooza is a four-day musical experience held in Grant Park, Chicago with a diverse array of artists and genres. Running from July 31 to Aug. 3, this year’s headliners include Tyler, the Creator, Luke Combs, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter and A$AP Rocky. Four-day general admission tickets start at $415, but can reach thousands of dollars, placing this event on the expensive side. But it is sure to be an exciting few days, especially with Sabrina Carpenter placing her bid for song of the summer.
Outside Lands
Planning to stay on the west coast this summer? Outside Lands may be a great opportunity for some live music at a beautiful venue. From Aug. 8 to Aug. 10, you could have access to food, beverages and three days of performances right in the heart of San Francisco – Golden Gate Park. This year’s lineup features Doja Cat, John Summit, Gracie Abrams, Hozier and Bruin Bash’s own – Doechii – among other stars. Single-day tickets are on sale starting at $235, with a limited quantity of three-day tickets still available, as well.
Summerfest
For a change of pace, take a trip to Milwaukee and go to Summerfest, which will be held on three different occasions – June 19-21, June 26-28 and July 3-5. This 12-stage outdoor music festival on the shores of Lake Michigan features over 600 artists, including The Killers, Megan Thee Stallion, Lainey Wilson, Gigi Perez, Japanese Breakfast and many more. Ticket prices vary.
Newport Folk Festival
Looking for something a little more low-key? This historic annual festival, dating back to 1959, takes place in Rhode Island from July 25-27. This summer’s lineup includes Alex G, Flipturn, Jensen McRae, Jack Antonoff and Bleachers, Lucius and many more trailblazers in American folk. While tickets are already sold out, visit their website to join the waitlist.
JAS Labor Day Experience
The Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience takes place in Snowmass Town Park, Colorado, from Aug. 29-31. Experience three major headliners – Imagine Dragons, Lenny Kravitz and Luke Combs – and five other artists with the Elk Mountain Range as your backdrop. Three-Day GA Passes, deck passes and VIP passes are on sale now.
Whether you’re a seasoned concert veteran, or have never stepped foot in a live music venue, summer music festivals are a one-of-a-kind experience that can make this summer one to remember – so don’t miss out.
