Gallery: Best sunny day reading spots on campus

by Emily Chandler

During warm and sunny California days, students take advantage of some of the beautiful outdoor spaces around campus. Students on South Campus flock to the lively Court of Sciences for food and drinks as well as a nice place to sit and read. On the other side of campus, many lay out on the grassy hills of the Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden, enjoying the quiet ambiance surrounded by unique art sculptures. The lawn around Janss Steps is another well-known place to read outside, acting as the hub of student activity throughout the day as people can always be found reading amongst the action.

Isabella Morelos, a second-year student majoring in neuroscience, is reading "1984" by George Orwell in the Court of Sciences. "It is nice to sit and read between classes in the sun, passing time," Morelos said.
