No. 15 UCLA men’s basketball suffered its first Big Ten loss Saturday, falling to Nebraska 66-58 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Bruins (11-3, 2-1 Big Ten) struggled offensively, shooting 38.6% overall and just 4-of-28 from 3-point range. Tyler Bilodeau led UCLA with 15 points, while Lazar Stefanovic added 10.
Nebraska (12-2, 2-1 Big Ten) remained undefeated at home this season, extending its home winning streak to 20 games. Brice Williams led the Cornhuskers with 16 points, including 11 from the free-throw line. Nebraska capitalized on UCLA’s mistakes, scoring 17 points off turnovers and shooting 25-of-29 (86.2%) from the free-throw line.
UCLA opened with a 7-0 run but endured a six-minute scoring drought, allowing Nebraska to rally with a 15-0 surge. The first half ended tied at 24-24, UCLA’s lowest-scoring half this season. In the second half, Nebraska built a 12-point lead despite UCLA cutting the deficit to four late in the game. The Cornhuskers sealed the win with 13-of-16 free throws in the final four minutes.
Kobe Johnson recorded a career-high 11 rebounds, while Sebastian Mack contributed nine points and six assists in his first start for UCLA.
