It’s time to go out: A list of songs inevitably played at every UCLA party

Party culture plays a big part in UCLA’s social life. Every Thursday night, many people get ready to head down toward Gayley Ave., also referred to as “frat row.” The girls are wearing all-black fits, loud music is playing from the houses and everyone is singing in unison.

In order to make parties even more fun, here is a list of songs that you should know the words to before coming to any UCLA party:

“UCLA” by RL Grime (feat. 24hrs)

Since UCLA is so iconic, of course we have our own song. “UCLA” by RL Grime is a classic. The lyrics “She just moved to LA, go to UCLA” are sung so proudly and loudly at parties, which makes it a must-know song.

“Doses and Mimosas” by Cherub

Its upbeat tempo and catchy lyrics make “Doses and Mimosas” by Cherub a classic party anthem. The song creates an energetic atmosphere through its electronic beats and playful elements.

“Love Story” by Taylor Swift

The story of forbidden love mixed with Swift’s relatable lyrics hits home for many young college students. The pop classic is blasted through speakers around every DJ booth, and the song’s melody and chorus allow listeners to sing their hearts out when it plays.
