UCLA men’s basketball holds their winning streak after the game against Texas Prairie View with the final score of 111-75. The UCLA men’s basketball proves to remain at the top. The UCLA men’s basketball team had a strong offense and defense throughout the game.
The first half started off strong with one of UCLA’s lead basketball players, Tyler Bilodeau, making a turnaround jumper in the paint. Bilodeau and Dylan Andrews made a 4-for-5 total. UCLA kept around a 10 point lead starting at 9:57 left of the game.
Bilodeau made the first dunk of the game with 4:01 remaining bringing the UCLA team towards a greater lead. With 2:08 remaining, Andrews made a second chance 3pt jumper off Prairie’s turnover and made the final basket bringing the team to 53-36 at halftime. Player, Aday Mara, was also noteworthy during the first half achieving a total of four rebounds split between offense and defense.
Texas Prairie View struggled to keep up against UCLA’s defense and offense as they totaled only 36 points within the first half, with a total of 12 fouls.
Within the the second half, UCLA continued to dominate Texas Prairie View with Bilodeau hitting a three pointer. Player Kobe Johnson shined as he made an assist to Skyy Clark who shot a 3pt jumper at 18:12. Johnson further demonstrated his strong defensive skills as he had four rebounds and two steals in the second half.
Trent Perry had a remarkable shooting performance, as started off the second half with a three point jumper at 16:54 as well as having the first dunk of the second half after the steal by Lazar Stefanovic. Perry made 100% of the shots within the second half.
Stefanovic followed with a dunk at 12:09 with the score being 84-54. Stefanovic had an 80% shooting efficiency within the second half while having reached 1,000 points during his free throws in the first half.
Perry made the final two free throws of the game, the team as a whole made 78.4% of free throws. The strong performance from UCLA puts them as a top contender for the remainder of the season. UCLA will now prepare for their next game against UNC.
