Gallery: A wave of different music genres hit the scene as headliners The Killers close out the night

Despite overcast weather, thousands of fans still eagerly flocked to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on Friday, August 9, to kick off the celebration of music, food and the Bay Area at Outside Lands 2024. This year’s festival brought some well-known artists of various genres including Sabrina Carpenter, The Killers, Post Malone and so many more. With six different stages, attendees rotated between each, catching as much of an artist’s or group’s set before they moved on to a different performance. Dispersed throughout the areas between the stages were enticing food stalls and trucks, with many fusion options among them. Starting off strong, the first day of Outside Lands saw performances from notable artists like Shaboozey—whose song “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is currently charting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100—Grammy Award-winning Daniel Caesar and indie-pop artist Rocco to name a few. Even as the sky turned from grey to black, crowds continued to fill each stage’s audience, whether by laying their blanket out on the grass or standing closer up. With so much to see and do, everyone’s excitement to see their favorite artist or try some new bites reverberated throughout these same crowds. A chill vibe was felt throughout the park, which will surely continue throughout the next two days.
