For everyone over 20, each birthday leads you further into adulthood, and for most adults, nothing is free. But that is not the case on your birthday. Here are my favorite birthday freebies that will help you get your party on, ranging from food to small gifts. These are sure to make anyone’s day a little brighter.
Start with something every 20-something-year-old needs: a little breakfast treat or coffee. First, head to either Peet’s Coffee or Jamba Juice. Both reward you with points to spend on a free beverage of your choice if you have a rewards account. If you’re feeling something on the sweet side, Steak ‘n Shake offers a free specialty milkshake.
After your sweet treat or breakfast, you can head over to a lunch spot. For those craving something on the saltier side, take a trip across town to Benihana, where they offer rewards members a $30 gift card during the month of their birthday. But if you’re not feeling hibachi, check out some of these other spots. Buffalo Wild Wings, BJ’s, Johnny Rockets, El Pollo Loco and Einstein Bros. Bagels will also be offering a free meal to those getting a little bit older.
Once your stomach is satisfied, start to take advantage of those gift sets and clothes. Finding the perfect birthday outfit can be hard, but it doesn’t have to be when you’re being encouraged by discounts. Starting with loungewear, for a birthday slumber party, Aerie offers 15% to 25% off one item, depending on your membership level. Need a form-fitting pair of jeans? American Eagle will also give you 15% to 25% off one item, depending on your membership level. For those wanting a birthday workout outfit, Athleta will give members points to spend on a birthday gift. There’s truly something for everyone on their birthday, even those who wish to dress a little more formally. Banana Republic and J. Crew members receive a birthday gift too.
When all is said and done, you’ll need a new pair of kicks and some makeup. So if you’re a member, head over to Foot Locker for a birthday gift, as well as to Target for 5% off your purchase.
Finally, once your outfit, shoes and stomach are satisfied, you can get some skincare and makeup. I will start off with my personal favorite, Ulta Beauty, which will give you a free makeup item as a birthday gift if you’re an Ultamate Rewards Member. Sephora also gives their Beauty Insiders a free gift set from either skincare, beauty or fragrance to leave them smelling and feeling clean and fresh.
