What is included in the yearbook?
The yearbook covers 1 academic year and contains the following sections: student life, academics, events, athletics, student groups/greeks, corresponding graduating class and parent dedications.
Who is included in the yearbook?
Due to UCLA being a large university, we are unable to accommodate everyone into the book, therefore, only the graduating class is included in terms of portraits. However, undergrads can be included if they are part of any student groups/greeks on campus in the “Student Organizations section.”
Who buys the yearbook?
The yearbook is bought by freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors looking to have a keepsake of each year of their careers at UCLA.
Do you offer any discounts?
The only discounts offered by BruinLife is a $10 off for freshmen which can be locked in for all 4 years by buying the 4-year package. The Alumni Association offers a discount of $13 for graduating seniors thru their Alumni Packages.
BruinLife does offer different discounts on special occasions so feel free to email us.
Can my yearbook be shipped?
Yes, your current yearbook will be automatically be shipped if bought within September -June of that corresponding year.
For past books or books sold after the deadline, shipping is $15.
What carrier do you use for shipping?
Yearbooks are shipped from USPS directly from the printing company.
Past books or books that miss the June deadline are shipped by Student Media using 3-Day FedEx.
Can I get my photos shipped to me?
Photos shipping is $10 and sent thru FedEx 3Day.
My product never arrived, what should I do?
All products shipped directly from Student Media will have a tracking number.
Yearbooks shipped directly from the company are shipped by USPS. Please make sure to verify your shipping address to ensure that your book makes it to you.
I don't know where I will be living over summer, what should I do?
We recommend that you use your permanent address in case you are unsure where you will be living over summer.
If for some reason, shipping to permanent home address is not an option, we can hold your book in our offices.
Can I pick up my yearbook on campus instead of having it shipped?
For current yearbooks, shipping is automatically built into the price. However, choosing to pick up your yearbook on campus DOES NOT bring down the price of the book. This is due to the yearbook still having to be shipped directly from the company to campus for us to hold.
What are dedications?
Dedications are a great way to personalize your Bruin’s yearbook with messages and photos of your choice.
What sizes do you offer?
We offer a variety of parent dedications:
Double Page Spread*, Full page*, Half page, 1/4 Page, and 1/8 page.

Do any of the dedications come with a yearbook?
Only the double page spread and full page dedications come with a free yearbook.
How do I buy a dedication?
Buy a dedication from our BruinLife Shop. Dedications can be found in the tab named “Dedications”
Once payment is made, download the form, complete and send to bruinlife thru email ([email protected]) or to our offices at 308 Westwood Plaza, 118 KH, Los Angeles, CA, 90024.
How do I create my dedication?
First download the form.
Complete by selecting which size, fonts, and sketching a rough draft of what it should look like.
Attach photos and text and send to BruinLife thru email or our offices.
Will I get a proof for my dedication?
Yes, the BruinLife staff will send out an email PDF proof for you to approve before print. You will have a 1 week deadline to make changes.
I missed the deadline to approve my dedication proof, what should I do?
If you miss the 1 week deadline to approve the proof, the staff will proof read one last time for any errors or typos.
We will try to contact you with 1 final email notice and 1 call notice before we send it to proof.
However, we are not responsible for any mistakes that show up on the final print if you fail to reply by the deadline.
There were typos in my dedication, can I get a refund?
If you responded to the proof and said ready for print, we are unable to issue out a refund.
Refunds are only given if the final print does not match what you approved.
If you failed to respond to the proof and the dedication contained typos, we will not be able to grant any type of refund.
How can I be included in the grad section?
If you are a graduating Bruin, your yearbook portrait can be included in the yearbook if you take your portrait with BruinLife Studio, Campus Photo Studio, or an outside studio before the deadlines.
What are the deadline's to have my grad portrait taken?
The following are the deadline for having your senior portrait taken at studios:
- BruinLife Studio: June 22, 2018
- Campus Photo Studio: June 8, 2018
- Outside Studios: April 3, 2018
How does BruinLife studio differ from Campus Photo Studio?
BruinLife studio is run by Student Media, the publishers of the Daily Bruin, the yearbook and other media publications while Campus Photo Studio is run by the UCLA Store.
Because we work directly with the yearbook staff, we do no follow scheduled weeks by last name and are open to everyone each week.
How do I make a portrait appointment?
You can make an appointment with BruinLife Studio online.

Can I order prints from BruinLife Studio?
Yes, we offer several packages that beat the competitors!
What is the quality of photo prints?
Our photo prints are printed on professional photo paper and the quality is equal to that of our competitors.
What is UCLA BL Senior of the Year Awards?
Each year, the Bruinlife yearbook selects a small group of students who exemplify the ideals of the university. We try to highlight excellence in a variety of forms, including academics, community service or activism in school life. You are invited to apply for the award if you believe you are someone who embodies one or more of these ideals.
Winners are featured in the yearbook over a 2 page spread.

I finished 1 quarter early, can I still apply for Senior of the Year if I am no longer on campus?
We welcome everyone to apply for Senior of the Year.
Please keep in mind, that if you are selected as a winner you will need to be on campus for the photoshoots.
If you are unable to be on campus for the photoshoots by the deadline, you will forfeit the award.
How do I know if you received my SOTY application?
BruinLife will email you to confirm that we received your application.
If no email is received 2 days after the deadline, please contact us over the phone or email.
Are there interviews for the Senior of the Year Award?
After the BruinLife reviews all applications, they will narrow down the pool of applicants and select applicants to be interviewed by the BL SOTY Selection Committee.
Selected people will need to schedule an interview within selected date of interview.
How do I know if I am selected as a winner of the UCLA BL SOTY Awards?
Winners will be posted on our website by Monday of Week 7 Spring Quarter. Winners will be notified thru email.
What happens if I win Senior of the Year?
As one of the winners of the UCLA BruinLife Senior of the Year awards, you will contacted by the BruinLife staff to schedule an interview (1 hour) and 2 different photoshoots (one studio and one outside candids)

Yes, all of our announcements can be found in the announcements tab in the BruinLife Shop.
We offer photo paper announcements and press printed cards.
What's the difference between photo paper announcements vs press printed announcements?
Photo paper announcements are printed on professional photo paper while press printed cards are printed on hard stock quality paper (like ones you would buy at the store).
How many sides can I personalize on the announcements?
Photo announcements: 1 Side
Press Printed Cards: Flat Cards: 2 Sides; Folded Cards: Up to 4 Sides depending on design.
