NBA: Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum returns after an Achilles tendon injury.
Playoffs are less than a month away and things are picking up. Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics returned to the court Sunday night after recovering from an Achilles tendon surgery. Tatum logged a total of 27 minutes, scoring six of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, including a 3-pointer during the last two minutes.
On another note, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced the recipients of the 2026 Curt Gowdy Media Awards. Each award recipient was recognized for their commitment and efforts with print, electronic and transformative media that left an impact on basketball. This year, Chris Carrino, Seth Davis, Mike Fratello and Ma Guoli were awarded for this year’s awards.
MLB: Records were made at the World Baseball Classic.
Records started to fall at the World Baseball Classic that kicked off on March 4. Twenty teams from around the globe were set to compete to determine the world champion, down to the last two teams competing towards the end.
Shohei Ohtani from the Los Angeles Dodgers was set to represent Japan this year. During their first game, Ohtani helped Japan secure a victory of 13-0 and set a record playing performance during the team’s opening game against Chinese Taipei. Philadelphia Phillies Cristopher Sanchez struck out four batters in one inning, marking the first in World Baseball Classic history.
The first ever walk-off in WBC history was made by Ozzie Albies representing team Netherlands on the second day. Moving into motion, the second walkoff was made by Puerto Rico’s Darell Hernáiz.
The U.S. team is tied for first in their pool with team Mexico and Italy.
NHL: Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo Sabres play a shock shifting game in NHL history, 8-7.
On March 8, the Buffalo Sabres and Tampa Bay Lightning delivered one of the most jaw-dropping regular season games in recent NHL history. Both teams were tied for first in the Atlantic division heading into the match. The matchup collected 120 combined penalty minutes and led to 7-8 win for Tampa Bay.
On another note, the National Hockey League trade left fans spiraling with the results.
The Anaheim Ducks added John Carlson, previously on the Washington Capitals, to their roster. One of the most respected vets in the league. Anaheim is projected to have a clear offense and help with the power play with this trade. With similar hopes, Nazem Kadri was brought back to the Colorado Avalanche, which steers Colorado into a clear path for the season.

The National Football League offseason sprung and opened a door of opportunity to reset and plan for the next season. What better way than to kick off the offseason through free agency?
Suspicions arose between a possible trade of Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders and a release of Cam Jordan from the New Orleans Saints. Several teams are in search of wide receivers and edge rushers for top teams such as the Chargers, Titans, Raiders and the Jets.
Along with those teams, the Kansas City Chiefs are hopeful of the resigning of two key players, Jaylen Watson and Leo Chenal. Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III has a pending possibility of join the team. Alongside these players, hints of Travis Kelce returning to the Chiefs for his 14th season have come up.
The stakes are high. Multiple teams have established a plan that could change the way things look in the National Football League moving forward in 2026.
