On Saturday, Nov. 1, the UCLA men’s soccer team (5-6-4) took on the Omaha Mavericks (3-9-3) at Caniglia Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

From the kickoff, both teams fought to control the pace. UCLA opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Konstantinos Georgallides finished a crisp build-up play assisted by Sergi Solans and Tre Wright. Omaha responded in the 44th minute when Theo Klein scored a goal with help from Maguire Perkins and Stefan Bilinac, leveling the score at 1–1 heading into the break.

But once the second half began, the Bruins took over. Solans struck from close range to regain the lead, sparking a relentless offensive run. Moments later, Georgallides made his second goal of the night, followed by another from Solans and a final goal from Schinieder Mimy, assisted by Philip Naef, gracefully sealing the 5–1 victory.

The Bruins outshot Omaha 13–6 overall and 10–1 in the second half. UCLA also earned eight corners to Omaha’s two, while keeping the visitors to just one shot on goal after halftime. Omaha’s frustration showed late, as they picked up two yellow cards and struggled.

With the dominant win in Omaha, UCLA ranked No. 59 looks to carry its momentum into next week’s clash against Washington ranked No. 27. The Bruins’ sharp attack and disciplined second-half performance could prove vital as they prepare to face one of the nation’s top-ranked teams.
