Young Drive East alone uncovers a spectrum of color lightened and nurtured by the California sun. Sapna is a third-year physiological science and film student from San Jose, CA. With an endlessly growing bucket list of hobbies to learn and places to visit, she tries to divide her free time between photography, screenwriting and finding Los Angeles' “hidden gems” (she promises not to gatekeep). She is always down for conversations about music or film, and aims to help others build new skills in photography this year as well as work on her own.
Julia Gu is a UCLA alumna who earned her bachelor's degree in computer science and applied mathematics and was a 2025-2026 photo editor for BruinLife. When she does not have a camera in hand, Julia loves helping out at local elementary schools, learning languages and exploring music from around the world.
