BottleRock not only serves as a spectacular vehicle to discover new favorites, but hear some old favorites as well. That is exactly what brought festival goers to the Stage to pay homage to one of the 70s greatest punk bands, the Ramones, with their tribute band, The Return of Jackie and Judy.
Amongst an impressive discography, this group pulled out “I Can’t Make it on Time,” where their drummer, Fred Armisen, sang while banging away on the high hat like a regular Phil Colin’s. The group’s lead vocalist, Carrie Brownstein, positively rocked the lyrics “Perhaps they’ll die, oh yeah,” during the chorus to “Judy is a Punk.” And even though it’s a wife festival, guitarist Corin Tucker tore up those strings on “Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue.” At the end of their 45 minute set, they cap it all off with “Do You Remember Rock n’ Roll Radio?” And after that performance, even though it’s the end of the century, BottleRock 2026 definitely remembered lying in our bed, covers pulled up over our heads, radio playing so everyone could see.
