Going live 15 minutes past his 6:15 p.m. set time, the anticipation only grew as fans fought, and I mean literally fought — drinks were thrown — to the front rows of BottleRock 2026’s Prudential Stage. But at 30 minutes past the hour, Sombr’s silhouette cut through the smoke, the setting sun glistening off his cropped leather jacket.
Banger after banger after banger, the artist used every inch on and off the stage, as he often ran out across the catwalk to get closer to his raving fans. During such hits like “Homewrecker,” his opener, and “undressed,” Sombr commanded the microphone and the cameras of the crowd. Simultaneously, when we brought the mood down with a devotion to one of his favorite bands, he didn’t lose an ounce of his stage presence.
His showstopper had to be “12 to 12,” a libations and disco-centric pop number that had the claustrophobic crowd jumping like they were alone on the dance floor.
At the end of Sombr’s artist showcase, the glitter in his attendees’ eyes was definitely telling him other things.
