Abbasali Fazal, a second-year business economics student, is running for USAC Internal Vice President for the 2026-2027 term.
According to USAC, the IVP serves as the executive liaison between over 950+ student groups, USAC and the UCLA administration. Fazal said that being Gameday Coordinator for various USAC sports events has prepared him for the role by giving him “a strong understanding of coordination, accessibility and student-centered programming.”
When asked what motivated him to run for IVP, Fazal said, “I’m running because I want to expand USAC’s impact by making student engagement more accessible, coordinated and intentional across campus.”
Some of Fazal’s priorities include launching the GameDay Access Program, strengthening support systems for student organizations and expanding access to affordable essentials on campus.
Fazal said his focus on making existing and new opportunities more accessible, affordable and coordinated, rather than only on expanding programming, distinguishes his platform from other IVP candidates.
Fazal launched his campaign on Instagram, where he shares updates and welcomes feedback and ideas from the student body.
“At the core of my campaign is a commitment to making campus life more connected, inclusive and engaging for every student,” Fazal said.
